National boxers will match their skills against boxers from Guyana and St Lucia when the second leg of the Tuesday Night Boxing Series takes place at the residence of Brian Lara Castle at Chancellor Hill in Port-of-Spain, from 7 pm, this evening.

The event is a partnership between the T&T Boxing Association, LAY Management Group and the Pearl and Bunty Lara Foundation. Last Tuesday the same venue staged the first leg of the three-night series which was an all T&T affair during a six-bout card that was backed by local entertainment which was witnessed by many sports fans among them was Darryl Smith, the Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs.

This evening programme will see many of those pugilists return to the ring to match skills against their Caribbean counterparts.

These fight cards are being used to help T&T Olympic hopefuls prepare for the Games in August. At the first leg T&T Olympic hopefuls Aaron Prince and Michael Alexander featured in the main event, with the former coming out the winner on points.

Prince and Alexander will feature again tonight with Prince squaring up against Lyndell Marcellin of St Lucia in a 69kg bout, while Alexander will match his skills against Joel Williamson of Guyana in a 60kg fight.

Seven bouts including a local women’s bout is confirmed for tonight, but an eighth fight may be added to the card. The third and final leg will take place next week Tuesday.
